What happens during a FOO lesson?
FOO sessions involve a variety of fun activities aimed at helping you become a leader in your school and community. The activities include art, discussions, watching videos, cooking, yoga and guided meditations.

Who should participate?
Anyone! You don’t need to know any of the other girls taking the class or have experience doing yoga, art or anything else! Just a desire and a willingness to try some new things, meet new people, gain new skills and have lots of fun!

Do I need to be flexible, strong or skinny to do yoga?
Not at all! Anybody can do yoga- big, small, strong weak, flexible or not. Yoga will help you become more strong and flexible with practice, but you are not expected to come with any prior set of skills. Come exactly as you are!

How do I get to teach younger girls?
In courses that allow enough time, participants may have the opportunity to teach younger girls at the end of the class. It is not expected that you have any prior teaching experience. FOO students teach as a group, so there’s lot’s of support. This is one of the most exciting parts of the class, and the younger girls always have a great time because they look up to you and respect what you have to say!

What is the research all about?
Participating in research helps us to make FOO even better for girls who take it next time! Research participation is optional— you are welcome to participate in the class and not the research. If you do decide to participate, it will be fun and easy, and takes less than two hours of your time. The research involves taking questionnaires at the beginning and end of the course, and an interview at the completion of the course.
