Healthy Girls Santa Cruz (HGSC) is a project supporting girls' health and success that is being piloted through the Student Support Services Department of the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. Pop culture encourages girls to focus inordinate amounts of time and energy on their bodies, which distracts them from engaging with friends, family, school and community. HGSC aims to offer programs that support girls in using their energy, intelligence and power in positive ways.
